Sweet Sin Bakery (based in Baltimore) serves the Mid-Atlantic region by offering a variety of baked goods in such major retailers as Whole Foods & Wegman's and smaller outlets like David's Natural, Common Market & MOM's, to name a few. It also does custom orders and has a cupcake shop in Baltimore. You can check out where and how to purchase their products at http://www.glutenfreedesserts.com/buy. Feel free to email me at amanda@sweetsinbakery.net if you have questions!

Suggested by a celiac friend:
I generally hate bread unless it's superb, like San Franciso sour dough, and real Italian rolls, or French Baguettes. I actually found a gluten free French Baguette that both Sondra and I find superb. She feels they were equal to the real thing. The web site is everybodyeats-inc.com. I think they ship it frozen. Had it in a New York restaurant, and am now ordering some.

I don't know about the DC area, but I just purchased some from San Antonio from The Little Aussie Bakery. The even have a bread there that is like a rye bread but obviouisly not actual rye. I just purchased that and it's new so have not had the chance to try it:

Does anyone know of a specialty bakery making/selling gluten free bread in the DC area? I've only found them in Minnesota - Rochester, Minneapolis and St. Paul - and in Sweden - near Malmo. The bread in Sweden is the best - hands down. It makes eating the bread offered at Whole Foods freezer section a real disappointment.
