ARLINGTON LIBRARY DIRECTIONS
By Metro
Library is between the Ballston and Virginia Square Metro stations on the Orange line. Walk east on Fairfax Drive from Ballston exit (walk west from Virginia square exit) to North Quincy Street. Turn north on Quincy (left from Ballston exit, right from Virginia square exit) and walk up 1.5 blocks to the library.
By Car
From North (Maryland)
Take Beltway 495 south/east towards Northern Virginia. Merge onto VA-267 East via exit number 45B (on the left) toward I-66 to Washingotn, VA-267 E becomes I-66 East. From 66, take the Fairfax Drive exit, number 71, toward VA-120 (Glebel Road). Stay straight and go onto N. Fairfax Drive. Turn left onto N. Quincy Street. Library is on the right.
From South/West
Take I-395 North toward Washington. Merge onto Washington Blvd. via exit number 8A toward VA-244/ Columbia Pike/Fort Meyer. Make a slight left onto Wilson Blvd. Turn right onto 10th Street (VA-237 West). Follow VA-237 West. Turn right onto N. Quincy Street. Library is on the right.
From DC
Take the Roosevelt Bridge to Rt. 50 West (right hand exit; left fork of the exit). From Rt. 50, take the 10th Street West (this is VA-237). Stay straight and enter 10th Street (Rt. 237 South). Turn right onto N. Quincy Street. Library is on the right.

From the Bethesda stop on the Red Line, bear left at the top of the escalator. Walk through bus terminal. Two blocks to the Bethesda Library straight ahead.
By Car
North (Gaithersburg / Rockville)
Go south on Interstate 270. Take the 495 Spur towards Bethesda and Silver Spring. Take the Route 355 exit. Go south on 355 past NIH and veer right on to Woodmont. Go to St. Elmo and turn right. Cross Old Georgetown Road on to Arlington Road. Go two blocks to the Bethesda Library on the right.
North (Wheaton)
Go west on the Beltway, 495, to the Connecticut Ave. exit. Take Connecticut south to Jones Bridge Road. Turn right, follow to Route 355, and turn left. Go south on 355 two blocks to Woodmont. Veer right on to Woodmont. Go to St. Elmo and turn right. Cross Old Georgetown Road on to Arlington Road. Go two blocks to the Bethesda Library on the right.
North (Montgomery Mall)
Go east on Democracy Blvd to Old Georgetown Road. Turn right on Old Georgetown Road and go past the Beltway, Cedar Lane, the firehouse, NIH, and Suburban Hospital to the four-way intersection where Wilson Lane, St. Elmo and Arlington Road converge with Old Georgetown Road. Turn right on Arlington Road. Go two blocks to the Bethesda Library on the right.
South (Little Falls)
Go west on Massachusetts Ave. to Little Falls Parkway. Turn left on to the Parkway, cross River Road and continue north to Arlington Road. Turn right and follow Arlington five blocks to the Bethesda Library on the left, just past the Caroline Freedland Park.
South (District of Columbia)
Go north on Wisconsin Ave, Route 355, to the intersection with Bradley Blvd. (Note the firehouse on the left.) Turn left on Bradley. Continue to Arlington Road. Turn right on Arlington Road and go four blocks to the Bethesda Library on the left, just past the Caroline Freedland Park.
East (Silver Spring / Chevy Chase)
Go West on East-West Highway. Cross Wisconsin Avenue and East-West Highway becomes Old Georgetown Road. Turn left on to Edgemoor Lane. Cross Arlington Road and turn left into the Bethesda Library parking lot.
West (Potomac)
Go south on River Road to the Little Falls Parkway. Turn left on to the Parkway, and continue north to Arlington Road. Turn right and follow Arlington five blocks to the Bethesda Library on the left, just past the Caroline Freedland Park.
West (Virginia)
Take Interstate 495 across the American Legion Bridge to the River Road exit. Turn right on River Road and go south on River to the Little Falls Parkway. Turn left on to the Parkway, and continue north to Arlington Road. Turn right and follow Arlington five blocks to the Bethesda Library on the left, just past the Caroline Freedland.
Parking
Library patrons park for free at the Bethesda Library. If you are visiting the library, remember the number of the parking space you pull into. Go to the parking kiosk in the library lobby and enter your number. You will get a printed receipt giving you two free hours of parking. If you wish to stay longer, re-enter your parking space number again before your two-hour limit is up. The receipt is just for your records; you don’t need to display the receipt in your car window.

Take Ride On bus #55 in the direction of the Germantown Transit Center from the Rockville Metro Station to the stop at E. Middle Lane and Maryland Avenue.
By Metro (Red Line)
From the Rockville Metro station, cross Route 355 at East Middle Lane, or you may take the Pedestrian bridge at the Metro stop. (If you take the Pedestrian Overpass, turn right on Monroe Street and continue to East Middle Lane.) Continue on East Middle Lane to Maryland Avenue. Turn right onto Maryland Avenue. The library is on the plaza on your left at 21 Maryland Avenue.
By Car

South on Route 355 to East Middle Lane. Turn right on Middle Lane and right on Maryland Ave. The garage entrance will be on your right. The library will be on the left.

From East (Prince George's County)
Take the beltway I-495 west toward I-270. Take I-270 to the Falls Road exit (#5 to the Rockville Town Center.) Go straight through the first traffic light after your leave I-270. You will be on Maryland Ave. Continue on Maryland Ave. past East Middle Lane. The garage entrance will be on your right. The library will be on your left.
Parking
As of July 1, 2010, parking is no longer free for library patrons at the three city-owned Rockville Town Center Garages, except on Sundays and holidays, when all garage parking is free. Parking in the garages costs $1 per hour weekdays between 7 am and 6 pm; $1 flat fee weekdays between 6 pm and 10 pm; and $1 flat fee Saturdays. There are five short-term metered spaces inside the 355 Parking Garage near the CVS store, which allow 15 minutes of parking for 25 cents.
